Countdown to Christmas by the Happy Little Elf Henri

Christmas is just a few days away and our eager little elf named Henri is very busy packing goodies for the Batangas kids who have been nice and not naughty. He's excited to share these sweet little treats during the party tomorrow.

 Want some?

Packing the loot bags with Grandma :)

Weeeeeeeeeee!

Ok, let's get to work guys!

Henri's Triple Halloween Trick or Treat!

This year, we wanted to make the most out of the Halloween because last year dada was down with flu in New York so we didn't really get to go around 1st Ave. to enjoy the trick or treating tradition. We bought you three special costumes which you were able to use in different occasions. Happy Halloween everyone!

Costume # 1: "Baby Jaws"
Halloween Party with Tita Mon's students at the Greenmeadows Clubhouse. Thank you Grandma for buying me this...although I had to take it out in the middle of the party because I was sweating profusely!  I guess the material used to make the outfit was just way too thick for Manila weather...

Costume # 2 : "Super Henri"
It's a bird, It's a plane...No, it's SUPER HENRI! You wore this superhero costume during the Valle 4 trick or treat party! Mama and Dada didn't see you wearing this because they were both busy with school and work so Ninong Hip took your photo to document it! Dada bought this whole costume for you in Bangkok and your kicks too! :) Nice!

Costume # 3: "Little Muay Thai Fighter"
This was given to you as pasalubong by Ninong Hip from Bangkok. Mommy made the headpieace by wrapping a regular thin headband with an old black cloth belt. She also wrapped an old knit bracelet to my arm as my band. It was a total hit! I got so much candies and goodies when we went around Dasma Village.

Henri : The Ballerina?!?

A few days ago, the Sison girls asked me if they could babysit Henri and bring him to LGV. Since I had back-to-back meetings that day, I readily agreed. When Henri got back that night, Yaya Cora told me that they dressed Henri with a skirt and a headband. It was hard to visualize until Tita Monica and Tita Felicia posted the picture in facebook. Bwahahaha! What a sight! You.. in a lilac tutu and a pink head dress!?!?

Wait a second...you're actually a very pretty girl! Don't you think? Wahahaha! For sure this will be used to blackmail you years from now!!!

Missing Henri

When I left Manila last Wednesday, I had mixed emotions of excitement and anxiety. I felt ecstatic to go back to our second home and yet I was hesitant to leave because I was almost sure to have separation anxiety from my hubby and Henri. I knew it was going to be a tough 2 1/2 weeks for me! :(

I told Joel to constantly send me pics of Henri so I won't miss him so much. Yesterday, he sent me three adorable pictures of our boy from his phone which certainly made my day...

Henri doing his signature "beautiful eyes" while preparing to leave for Sunday Pasyal! Naku girls, watch out for this killer look! :) hahaha!

At the soccer field in Alabang wearing his "Henry" Jersey from Tito Macky

Mama, I want to play soccer! :)

I miss my boys... *sigh*

Henri's New Do

Here it is guys, sorry it took a while for me to post...

This was taken at the mall - Quality time at Trinoma and Gbelt

happy inside his bugaboo!

Enjoying his Mac & Cheese with Truffle Oil at Mr. Jones (Greenbelt)

So how do you like his new "clean" look? :)

FIRST Haircut : Finally! :)

After a lot of debate and discussion, Dada finally agreed to give you a haircut. I told him that your hair was already irritating your eyes. He initially wanted to do it himself and even watched a lot of tutorials on how to cut baby's hair online (gulp!). But I convinced him that we should let someone professional do it since I'm sure you'd be giddy and move around so much since it's your first time. Thus, we decided to take you to this Kid's Hair Salon in Podium. Here's how it went...

On our way to Podium

Kids Hair Salon - We chose this because you also get a certificate for your first official haircut along with a small bunch of your locks as remembrance.

You chose the yellow car

Still behaved... *this was still about 2 minutes into the whole 'procedure'

Yaya trying to distract you by pointing to the TV screen - "Dora" was on

Starting to get fussy...

Dada's turn to distract you...

You didn't want to ride the car anymore so Dada just carried you while he cut your hair

'
Mama's turn...

"Look at the truck Henri...Woooow!"

Phew! It took three people (Yaya, Dada and I) to keep you calm the whole time (it was quite a workout!) but it was a success in the end! I will post your new DO shortly! I didn't get to take a picture of you there after the haircut because I had to talk to the cashier and settle the payment and fix the certificate! :) hahaha!

Huggies Limited Edition Diaper Jeans

Another twist in baby fashion from Huggies...DENIM Diapers! Mom sent two packs and they're super cute (thank you again Grandma!). Henri loves wearing them.

It's available in size 3-5 : Henri now wears a size 4

Henri in his "trendy" diapers - THUNDER THIGHS! Nom nom nom! Gigil!

For those who are interested to try this product I believe you can get it from  S&R at the Fort. They were selling these in XXL size the last time I was there. Unfortunately, their only available diaper size is still way too big for Henri.

MOMMY PROJECT : Details of Henri's First Barnyard Birthday Bash

I was up at 6:30 am and immediately I thought, "Oh no! It's gloomy outside!". It wasn't raining yet but the clouds were rather gray as if telling me that I shouldn't expect the weather to get much better. Well, true enough the sun didn't come out and the rain even poured during the peak of your party (3:30-ish) but aside from the weather which completely sucked... your party was rocking AWESOME! :) I want to look at the bright side and be thankful that a lot of people (t almost 90% attendance from our guestlist!) made it and celebrated your special day with you! :) Here's a rundown of the whole event. Ofcourse I want a complete documentation of my first major "project" for you. As I always say, it's all the DETAILS...the little things (handmade decorations, well-thought of concepts, etc.) ...that make the party extra special :)

So if you think it's as easy as ABC to plan a birthday party on your own...think again :) It involves a lot of brainstorming, creativity and time but in the end when you see all your guests especially the kids having a great time...it's worth all the sweat and stress!

Note : I'll be posting the highlights of the actual party in my next blog entry.

Planning Henri's 1st Birthday Party!

Tomorrow's the big day :) Mama and Dada are super excited at the same time very worried about the weather. According to the forecast, there's a big chance of rain fall tomorrow afternoon but hopefully that will just be for a little while. Lola Josie went and offered prayers to Sta. Clara for good weather (let's keep our fingers crossed!).

It's the night before the party and I just wanted to share how hectic it is to prepare for a party by yourself (without a party/events planner!). Since I'm very OC I really want to get my hands dirty on this special event...plus it saves a lot of money too! *wink*

This checklist can serve as a guide to all those mothers who decide to be their children's party planner.
Hopefully everything will turn out great tomorrow...rain or shine that is :)

HENRI'S FIRST BIRTHDAY BASH
Theme: Barnyard/Farm Animals
Venue : Valle Verde 4 Residence
Time : 2 pm onwards , merienda time

1. Caterer : Kiddie Food by Kusina ni Kambal (isn't the name so unique?). I found this contact through Lola Josie. Hopefully the kiddos will enjoy their merienda and the simple menu I picked.

2. Food Carts : Taho, Sorbetero, Authentic Fishballs from UP, Cotton Candy, Jimini Pizza (care of Lola Josie! Thanks in advance!)

3. Photobooth : Fotolove (this is Ninang Addie's gift to you) Tita Marina recommended them because the owners are her cousins!

4. Decors : Went all the way to Divisoria to buy materials for this. Again I don't want to spoil how it will look for the guests but I will post pictures of it after the party.

5. Tarpaulin : I had this printed at Metrowalk. It's fast and easy. They can help with the design and lay-out and print it in 30 minutes. Contact No. 638-4363 and email : metrotarp@hotmail.com.

6. Balloons : from Party Perks (San Juan Branch)

7. Cake - As of now, you will have 2 cakes because there was a complete mix-up. Tita Sunshine will do one cake and Layers and Layers will do another one. Long story why this happened. I have no energy left to tell it! What's important is that you will have something to blow!

8. Program and Games - I hired a party host to facilitate the games and the whole program. We already finalized the games to be played by the kids and adults!

9. Give-aways - We want to give away something useful that the children can put in their rooms or study desks. I wanted something related to writing and school (how nerdy!)

Animal Pen Holder with Clip so you can attach pictures/cards/etc. with funky pencil, eraser and crayons

Instead of Loot Bags, I decided to put the items in paper bags (environment friendly and very laid-back- cause you're suppose to be in a farm!) with thank-MOO notes!

10. Tents - Just to make sure we can use the garden, I rented 3 tents from Triplex Tents for tomorrow's event though I'm still hopeful the sun will be out!

We're all so excited for tomorrow! Woohoo! Love love birthday parties :)
